The Munster Junior Historical Society

HOW IT ALL BEGAN:

This photo shows the very first meeting of the Munster Junior Historical Society. It took place in the Kaske House. Discussing the organization's focus and goals were Beckey Seligman, 6th grader at Wilbur Wright Middle School, Dr. Louise Chickie-Wolfe, founder and sponsor of the group and teacher at James B. Eads Elementary School, Tony Hamer, 7th grader at Wilbur Wright Middle School, and Elena Piech, 5th grader at Frank H. Hammond Elementary School. These three students will forever be known as the Founding Student Historians of the Munster Junior Historical Society (MJHS). The organization was established on July 4, 2007, to honor the Centenniel Celebration of the town of Munster, Indiana.

GOALS:

The group will strive to:

1)  Preserve History of our town,
2)  Provide Service to our community, and
3)  Build Character within our students.
